Nicole “Nikki” Fried works closely with Florida lawmakers and regulators throughout the country directly advocating various legislative and regulatory initiatives identified by clients.
During the 2016 Legislative Session, Ms. Fried played an integral role in the passage of HB 307, relating to the usage of medical marijuana for those who are terminally ill. Ms. Fried has become one of most visible faces and key lobbyist in Florida’s burgeoning medical cannabis industry. Ms. Fried is the lead lobbyist for one of Florida's licensed medical marijuana dispensing organizations and heads up their local and state government relations.

Long standing professional relationships with key Florida legislators across the state of Florida, as a result of legislative, legal and leadership activities, professional and business organizational involvement having been generated from a college career entailing leadership positions and responsibilities. The firm also has developed vital relationships with duly elected governmental officials, on both sides of the isles and both chambers.
Primary client service area of the firm is South Florida. The firm's primary office is located in South Florida to better serve the needs of its clients. But client meetings are available throughout the State of Florida and the capital, Tallahassee.
A graduate of University of Florida Levin College of Law, she earned her Master of Arts in Political Campaigning and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida. The former University of Florida Student Body President, Ms. Fried is also a member of University's Hall of Fame and prestigious Blue Key Society. She also served the University on its Board of Trustees and currently serves on the University’s Governmental Relations Advisory Committee.
In 2013, she was appointed to The Florida Bar Young Lawyers' Division Board of Governors and re-appointed for the next four years. She also serves as Chair of that Board's Legislative Affairs Committee, a position to which she was also re-appointed for the 2015-2016 term. in 20106, Ms. Fried helped form a Florida Bar standing committee for lawyer-lobbyists which she currently serves as its vice-chair. She formerly served four years on the The Florida Bar's Student Education and Admissions Committee.
In 2014, Ms. Fried received an award from The Florida Bar's Legal Needs of Children Committee for her leadership of the Florida's Children First lobbying team, for which she accomplished the passage of HB 561 that provided $4.5 million in appropriations to ensure Florida's disabled dependent children have access to lawyers. Subsequently, Ms. Fried was appointed to The Florida Bar's Standing Committee on the Legal Needs of Children for a term beginning July 1, 2015, and ending June 30, 2018.
In 2014, Ms. Fried was also elected to the Board of Directors of Broward Days, a Broward County-based non-profit legislative advocacy organization that conducts the annual "Broward Days" event in Tallahassee. She currently serves as the Board’s Chair. She also is a member of the Broward County Bar Association’s Legislative Affairs Committee, where she served at the moderator for the Association’s legislative panel during their 2016 Legislative Affairs Reception. Ms. Fried, selected as a 2014 Daily Business Review South Florida "Rising Star," was also nominated for the same title by her peers in 2009, 2010 and 2015 in Florida Super Lawyers.
Experienced in complex commercial litigation, Ms. Fried is admitted to practice in Florida Middle and Southern U.S. District Courts. She formerly managed a foreclosure defense litigation department as Senior Litigation Associate for another major law firm. In a previous position, she also served the Eighth Circuit Court Public Defender’s Office, for which she managed a large felony and misdemeanor caseload and chaired more than 20 jury trials. Subsequently, she was promoted there to Felony Division Chair, a position that entailed supervising colleagues’ case management.
